PACKAGING

Three seed packaging on dirtPlant label
September - October 2023
Client: MPM Market
Mandate: Packaging, prototypes, artistic direction.
In the heart of Montreal lies the vibrant Marché Publique de Montréal, a hub of culinary delights and cultural diversity. With a rich history dating back to the 19th century, its mission is to connect Montrealers with local producers and artisans, fostering a sustainable and healthy community.

This year, the market is breaking new ground by branding and packaging seeds sourced directly from their farmers’ crops.

The goal was to develop a line-extension packaging solution for three different types of seeds, each accompanied by planting instructions. Simple envelopes wouldn’t suffice; innovation was key.

research

This is some text inside of a div block. Recognizing the challenges some face with traditional seed  packaging, the focus was on simplifying the gardening experience  while promoting local products and the values of the Marche Publique de Montréal.  Seeds may seem small, but they’re intricate. This packaging needed  to convey essential information without excess material. Moreover,  it had to be eco-friendly, accessible, and appeal to their target  audience: urban-dwelling millennials passionate about sustainability  and supporting local farmers.
